I have a 52-T1612 Philco TV which was recapped/restored in 2017

Over the weekend I powered on the TV for the first time in over a year, wanting to see if it had survived the transportation during a move late last year (it did).

The TV has a great picture and sound but it loses vertical "synch" when the image on the screen changes.  So I was watching a college basketball game on Saturday, and every time the program went to a different camera angle, the TV picture would instantaneously lose vertical synch and in less than a second, regain the synch and have a perfect picture from then on, until it was time to go to a different camera, etc.

Any idea what could cause this ?  Is it a bad tube or something possibly more major ?

I will post below the tube schematic from the inside of the set.

This TV has a split chassis.

Let me know if I need to post a picture of the synch issue.

I have a working Philco 52-T1612 that has a bad power cord.  The TV was recapped and restored over 7 years ago and has been used sparingly since.  I recently moved and was testing the set when I notice the worn cord.  I have replaced this with a standard run of the mill modern 2 prong cord, stop gap, but I don't want this to be a permanent solution for fear of damaging the prongs.

It looks like the cord that was on the TV is not original, so I am looking to find a replacement cord.  What I really need is the specifications for the plug end that goes into the 2 prongs of the TV set (pin spacing, pin diameter).  Once I have that, I can begin my quest for a replacement cord.

Any info the Phorum can provide me would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks !

P.S.  It's nice to be back after a 7-year absence.

Looking for a better underside diagram and a better schematic would also help.

What I have is so small you cannot read anything.

Thanks

I have completed electronic restoration on a Philco 46-1209. The radio portion works very well and sounds great. I'd like to work out how to install a bluetooth input. This radio has a built-in phonograph, and before connecting a bluetooth receiver I attempted to feed signal from my cell phone earphone jack through the phono pickup transformer, but no sound came through. I then tried bypassing the phono pickup transformer, but that did not work either. I had connected right and left channels together through a pair of 39 ohm resistors and tested the output with a spare set of headphones to verify output.
The schematic of the radio/phonograph is here http://www.nostalgiaair.org/pagesbymodel...013586.pdf

N00b here looking for repair recos. Father in law gave us this unit and the platter has a subtle wobble to it. It appears to be the due to slight warping/bending in the disc/plate rather than any sort of bend in the base piece/shaft. Pics for reference.

Any chance there is an effective way to repair?

Any tips/resources would be appreciated. ?

First let me say that the passing of Ron Ramirez was noted with sadness on the website of the New Zealand Vintage Radio Society. R.I.P. Ron
I have come across an RCA Model 101 104 108 auto radio.I have been able to identify it thanks to info gleaned from the Phorum . Thanks everyone. It has been modified and a speaker box grafted onto the front. Does anyone know where I can see a photo of it as original? Also  was this set an aftermarket model or was it a set installed in particular makes of car?  Any help appreciated. Thanks everyone.

I am working on a 36-650 and need to replace the lamp that is part of the Shadow meter (part no. 45-2086).
What type of lamp should be used for this?

Thanks, Bill

The Asheville Radio Museum ( www.avlradiomuseum.org, Asheville, NC) recently received the donation of a 511 with original paint that doesn't look salvageable.

Can anyone recommend  a place we can hire to repaint it?

Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

Hello Everyone,
I am purchasing a Radiobar Model 550, and unfortunately it does not have the radio or record changer. I'm guessing it was removed at some point and they continued to use the cabinet and barset. I am hoping someone may have this model and can help me with pictures and some details about the inside of the cabinet. Both for the record player section and the radio section. My hopes is that I can find some clues about what chassis it may have had, That would help with that side. But I don't know anything about what record changer it may have used. The best I can come up with at this point is a General Industries record changer. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I plan to fully restore.
