The differences between a 76 and a 77? - ccomer1955 - 08-11-2014

Does anyone know if the power transformer, audio output xformer, volume pot, and IF coils are interchangeable between the Philco 76 and the 77? I found some parts for a 76 at decent prices.

Neither the 76 nor the 77 have IF transformers. Both are TRF sets.

That said, yes, most parts are interchangeable between the two. Bear in mind that the 76 has a rotary local-distance switch while the 77 has a four point tone control switch.

I'm sorry, I meant to say RF coils, but got in a hurry. Thanks, Ron.
