Advice on output transformer - KCMike - 11-11-2014

I'am working on an philco model 14lzx it has two speakers H-7 & K12 it has 2-42 push/pull output tubes.
Would a hammond 125D ot trans. work for this? oops wrong thread!! Hope moderator can move.

You need to match a 16,000 ohm primary impedance to two 1.25 ohm voice coils connected in parallel - which means 0.625 ohm! So you will probably just have to experiment with the output taps, and use the two that produce the loudest sound from your speakers.

The 125D is rated at 10 watts output, which is probably adequate for your 14LZX.

I think pins 1 and 2 for the load will work.
It gives 134 ratio at needed 160. Not ideal but close.
