37-675 Dial Replacement Phantom Gasket - gvel - 01-17-2015

Got a dial replacement from Radio Daze.  I'm putting it on now, and mind you. it was disassembled about 3 years ago.

No...I didn't take pictures!  Icon_evil   Anywho, here's the gasket in question:

Does this even belong to this radio?  Icon_crazy   For the life of me, I see no way it'll fit.  I have downloaded service bulletins, probably from Chuck's site, and there's no mention of it.

The dial looks nice, but it's a tight fit onto the housing.  Actually, I'm afraid I'll crack it!  I took the ID, of the original dial, and it's a tight fit too!  Maybe I'll put a dab of Vaseline on it, before attempting again!  Any suggestion here?

Thanks for your help!

Well...I'm pizzed!

My new dial does not fit! Icon_evil

The diameter of the "control screw housing" is 4.80", based on my calipers.  The I.D. of the old dial is 4.85".

The I.D. of the Radio Daze dial is 4.65".

My wife said, "I can do it, it's only 20 thousandths of an inch."  Icon_rolleyes   Sorry...can't return a broken dial!
