Another project that I am currently completing...

Old tube radio console Imperial Stasfurt 60GWK. The first inclusion after repair and restoration

The German company Imperial Stasfurter was almost the only German company that in the pre-war period produced a decent amount of console radios and the 60WK model was the most popular and popular.
But this is by no means the case with its 60GWK transformerless version, designed for operation from DC networks in remote rural areas - such a version was extremely rare even at that time due to small production volumes ...
And it was she who came to me for restoration ... in a terrible state - look at the first photo ... After the exterior restoration and repair of electronics, today I decided to show her work ...

Wow Peter, you have some serious restoration skills. I envy your ability. You really rescued that set and made a masterpiece of it! Great job indeed! Icon_thumbup

Amazing work, Peter! That first photograph just looked like a pile of firewood. A remarkable restoration. Take care and BE HEALTHY! Gary

Peter, a nice collection of consoles, nicely arranged in the room. Unfortunately for me, too much stuff, too little house and Ms Fixr is not a fan of my hobby.

Prayers for you, your people, peace and justice.

My wife ain't no fan of my hobby either. But in the previous house, with no basement to speak of, I put my radios in the living room and stood my ground.
But in the new house with a large basement I was banned to it, along with my radios.
So they are along the walls and on the shelves.
No arrangement to marvel at.

MrFixr55 . - Thanks. Icon_thumbup

Michael, - the main thing in arguing with my wife is to get permission to put the first big radio in the house. This is the most difficult. Icon_smile I got . And then where there is permission for one radio, you can put another one. Icon_razz And then more... So my collection moved from the basement to a large room of the house. Icon_lol

My problem is that I don't have a large room in this house. We do have the basement, but you know what rolls downhill.

My garage is an archeological dig containing, among other things, a 1964 Lincoln convertible, am RCA TS741, my grandma's DuMont RA112 and other projects that I hope to restore now that I am retired. But, with retirement, comes old age and arthritis. I have a lot of crap that I have to find a home for or get rid of, some stuff I can sell, put up a shed, restore the car but I have to restore the house too. Fortunately, I put a way some (hopefully enough) money to do this.

Thanks Richard. Maybe you liked Dux B1259. It was brought to me from Sweden with the legend that it is the radio of the Prime Minister of Sweden from the government building. Icon_razz And for this they took additional funds. Icon_lol

MrFixr55. I think that after repairing and selling a 1964 Lincoln convertible, you will have enough money for three collections like mine. Icon_razz This is exactly what I would do. I'm already retired, but unfortunately I don't have a 1964 Lincoln convertible. Icon_biggrin

@ RadioSvit, it will be for sale when they can pry it from my cold dead hands.

I wanted this as my first car (this actual car). Had a chance to buy it from the guy that I worked part time for. Dad wouldn't let me buy it because I was in college at the time, and he thought I would spend too much time tinkering with it. Fast forward a few years, the guy actual gives it to me, but my wife doesn't want me to have it. I put it in the garage anyway and put up with a month of her not talking to me (or much else either).

Some dents, a lot of rust, the interior, engine and transmission need too be rebuilt, but it does run. I had stripped the original paint job and 2 additional paint jobs from it, to the bare metal, and put a coat of primer on it about 23 years ago. My job had me working much overtime so I really haven't had a chance to touch it in 20 years and it is buried in my garage. But I will be starting on it this summer or fall.

History repeating itself:

Dad probably wouldn't let me buy the car because when he was young, he had a chance to buy a 1936 Cadillac V16 Roadster for his first car. His dad said NO, went out and bought him a Model A Ford, and told the mechanic to make it so the car couldn't do more than 30 miles per hour. Grandpa knew Dad well!!
