Obamas "infomercial" - Texasrocker - 10-30-2008 04:10 AM

Obamas "infomercial",.... did anyone watch it? I didnt. I had much better things to do! Instead of listening to Obama try to fool all the voters on his tax-plan, I "rotated the hubcaps" on my small-company delivery truck instead of listening to his lies.(hee hee)
Seems that the "polls" must be abit tighter than Keith Olberman/Rachel Maddow is reporting on PMSNBC? Otherwise, why the multi-million $$$ buy of a extra "infomercial" to sway votes? Politics as usual? Trying to overcome the possible "Bradley Effect"?
Any politician that "buddies" with known terrorists in the past (proven),that helps jump-start their political-career should be deported instead of allowing them to use the US Constitution as a cover to run as President? Any politician that promises to raise taxes on any-one segment of American taxpayers, then promises to "spread the wealth" to give $500. each to Americans that cant hold down a job, or pay income taxes period, will stimulate the US economy?
About 2 things can be sure to happen if Obama is elected!
(1) Everyones taxes will go up!!..period!!!... because the tax math $$$$ doesnt "add" in taxing just the elite class to cover Obamas/Bidens promises!
(2) Every low-life ,..non-working,...lazy,..non income tax earners-reporters US citizens, (those already living on welfare),...will definately "stimulate" the US economy by spending their free-money gratis of Obamas-plan, to purchase illegal-street drugs crossing our already- porous borders where the money all goes back to the 3rd world countries that hate us all? Obama already stated he looked more like Alfred E Newmann than any other politician, so "what me worry" Obama? Did he really need to do an infomercial to further-sell his socialism-ideas to undecided voters?
Just a thought!! Icon_wink

I didn't watch either. Barrackodam has been stale from jump. Buracho Bomba?

Re: Obamas "infomercial" - Texasrocker - 10-30-2008 04:52 AM

hello Mikhail!! Yup, it doesnt take much-genious to figure out that "rotating-hubcaps" is a much better waste-of-time, than listening to anything Obama has to say!! The "utes" politicians worrys me,being inexperienced and all in World affairs, but then again Biden has no excuse! Even he has "countered" Obamas beliefs also, but the Obama train to the Whitehouse sure altered his past memory , as well as the Clintons indeed! I really think this election is much-closer in polls, than the dems want to admit?
hey...... are you restoring any radios? Sure hope so!! My shop is backed-up on customers repairs as usual. The old "day-gig" keeps me busy also as a small-business owner. However, that could "change" soon if Obama is elected. Seems America needs "change"? Looks like all my small-business "spare change" may be re-distributed to those that didnt earn-it soon!? I choose to be an informed voter. I watched Obama's infomercial online. It's good to know what both major parties are saying/ putting forth.

Obama's message has been consistent and strong. McCain's message has not been.

It's interesting that Colin Powell, a respected member of the Republican party, has endorsed Obama.

Im very glad to hear you enjoyed the infomercial!! See ya at the polls on voting day!! Icon_wink

Yeah, the campaign rhetoric blah-blah ends abruptly on Nov 4. Lotsa difference between standing in the kitchen asking people to give you a nice new stove vs. being in the frying pan! I pity the poor guy that wins. That pan is hot!

Not wanting to turn this into a racial issue but- if a white guy with Obama's credentials was running he wouldn't have a ghost of a chance. Example: my wife's co worker is voting for Obama, my wife asked her why. Her answer- "I think it would be cool to have a black president". Mind you, this woman is currently in medical school, studying to be a physician. If this is any example of the rest of the country, may God help us all.......

Not wanting to turn this into a gender issue but- if a man with Palin's credentials was running he wouldn't have a ghost of a chance. Goes both ways, my friend... Icon_biggrin

Governor Sarah Palin

Obama told us she is too unqualified to act if we came under attack.

Re: Obamas "infomercial" - Texasrocker - 11-03-2008 07:44 AM

Very well said Doug! Sarah Palin has more experience/& intelligence, than most voters realize, certainly much more than Obama has at his point in life, period! If JFK were still around, he would also agree!! Many of the black folks that say they want Obama to win, wont even vote anyways. I dont mean to say that to be "racial" either, but facts are facts. Many of my white, Hispanics, & all other races personal friends & neighbors are also confused this election-cycle!!, because their cable TV outlet only shows them a 1-sided liberal view of the "real" news being broadcast into their homes because they cant afford to pay-extra to receive Fox News Channel in their cable "packages" TV news channels reception!! That fact in itself is "socialist" where many voters this yr only get 1-side of the story! Reckon? The "left-sided" news outlets are now controlled by the FCC to boot, but you will never hear Nancy Pelosi admit that either! The dems have been "aligning" their stars several yrs now, just to "win", without much thought about the current state of World affairs they wish to over-see. The "intelligence level" of newsanchors like Keith Olberman, Chris Matthews, & Rachel Maddow are easily seen thru, because of their mis-guided & "edited" coverage of the L-sided attempt to win this election, most American TV viewers would see both sides if they didnt have to "pay extra" to get Fox News (fair & balanced news) in their homes!! I always have faith in the American voters, but this election-cycle, has been anything but "fair" on what is crammed-down the voters throats by the L-sided press and (mainstream only broadcast) TV cable "included news outlets for free" packages offered with their "basic-cable only"paid TV reception! At least I can varify that in my hometown for sure!! If you have ever heard any of the "Air America" radio talk show hosts, its very easy to assertain that these folks dont have any "substance" to their issues, and seems they only have 2-brain cells working period! And both those brain-cells are chasing each other round in circles anyways!! Obama will likely win, but the new USSA (United Socialist States of America) will certainly have the "change",all the 3rd world Countries are ready to challenge indeed!! I just bet McCain will still be alive & well, nomatter how this election turns, and Americans will be seeking his "expertise" sooner than later , as well as Palins & Condolezza Rice as well. Just my .02 only. Im not tryin to get anyone "riled-up" here, not my intent at all!, just go vote for your preferred candidate!! I will also!! Icon_wink

Re: Obamas "infomercial" - Scottb - 11-04-2008 11:52 PM

Lately I have been putting in incredible amounts of overtime. Last week I gave away just over 1k dollars in state and fed taxes. My last 10 ours of overtime, I made about 3.50 per hour. Wow makes me want to work even harder!!!!!! I am one of the wierd ones that has a paid for house, pay cash for cars, used of course!!!!
I guess I am tired of paying everybody elses way, I am no where near the 250k mark so I wonder what I am doing wrong.
I say let the stock markets and banks fail, they will come back. I know it is hard for the people getting ready to retire as they have lost alot. My Vanguard IRAs lost 70k so far, so I will not be retiring soon.
Lets just hope somebody changes something!!

Texasrocker Wrote:Sarah Palin has more experience/& intelligence, than most voters realize...

If that's true, you'd think she would've been smart enough to flap some of it around and allay some of the "Caribou Barbie" fears. Whether or not she is truly a decorative bit of fluff, that's certainly how she came across. Apparently nobody told her that Moscow is closer to New York than Wasilla, either. Icon_wink

Anyway. Gentlemen, as it is officially a moot point, I propose we move on to a new topic? Regardless of who won the race, either one would be promoting a spirit of "pulling together" and "fine race run" and other political platitudes. Even I'll admit there's a certain amount of "meet the new boss, same as the old boss" when politicians get involved, and it doesn't matter which party we voted for. Icon_wink

Re: Obamas "infomercial" - Texasrocker - 11-08-2008 08:19 AM

Well said DA!! Since I do believe in the spirit of "bipartisenship", I can always extend my hand across the aisle! And yes, politicians ALL have their agendas, however, some politicians do have better "personal-morals" than others? Would you agree to disagree? Candidates , that start their political careers in the living-rooms of known terrorists do worry me abit. Especially when they win a election of this magnitude with nomore political experience than Obama has under his belt. As a small business owner myself for over 15 yrs, I also employ 2 other great employees that have worked with me full-time for over 10 yrs now , to grow our business together! They are like "family" too me!! They also worked their butts-off helping me from day 1when I hired them!!! My small business income ,annually, falls in the tax-bracket that Obama wants to "spread our wealth" on to people that didnt earn it! Fine!! I only have one option now, just as every U.S. small-business owner now has coming to them in the near future!, I have to "raise my retail prices" to all my good customers, to adjust for higher taxes coming soon, under Obamas tax-plan as promised, just to keep my 2 employees & their families fed, & insured. That wasnt the case with McCain/Palin ticket!!
My hopes are,... "if",.. you are also a small-business owner of over 15 yrs,.. that also employees fine workers to help your business succeed, that you can give me somemore of your "tips", in staying in business after Obama takes office! Me & my employees would appreciate your input greatly! We will then call all our loyal small-business customer base we have built for the past 15 yrs , and see if they can afford your new Presidents tax-plan! Wonder if theres any love-lost & bi-partisanship left between Obama/Biden,.. Harry Reid/& Nancy Pelosi going for Joe Liebermanns throat these days? Time will tell all!!!
Enjoy your new President!! & higher prices coming soon!!, we ( my employees & I),didnt vote for this "new change", and Im sure our customers arent going to say: "Yes We Can!!", once we adjust our new prices for our services in the future? That said, its time the Dems get a shot at running this Country for a "Change"!! If you have a employer supporting you DA, you need to be "abit" worried now too? Maybe not. Since Americans small business owners never heard a "exact amt" of $$, of Obamas future taxplan ( Biden doesnt even know yet either!) folks like me can only add it up one-way by using "letters" instead of numbers! ANYTIME, any Government takes any-part of your hard-earned money away from you that you earned just because you have a little more than others, then gives it away to someone else, for any reason, is called "socialism",.. Period!! That "socialist-theory" kinda takes the "drive" out of hard-working people, that sought the American-dream in the 1st place by starting-up a business yrs ago!!Reckon? Your political "points" are also well respected by me, and never a "mute-point", because the Whitehouse changes occupancy fairly often! My bi-partisan arms-length has its limits just as yours. But Im always tryin to understand everyone elses views also!! Its your turn!! Icon_wink

Re: Obamas "infomercial" - Ron Ramirez - 11-08-2008 04:03 PM

Let's be nice, boys. Icon_smile

It's over with already...and the sheeple have spoken.

Baaa-aaa-aaa.

FWIW, I did not watch Beloved Leader's infomercial. I'll be seeing enough of Beloved Leader in the media for the next 4 to 8 years. Let's see...I think Beloved Leader's picture was on the cover of our local rag, the Courier & Depressed, for five of the past six days?

As an aside...yes, I said sheeple. Too many of the voting public do not take the time to do their own research, to see how the various candidates stand on various issues of importance. I will be honest in saying that I could have done more research of my own...but there were so many hacks on the ballot here for various offices...and I was involved in a local referendum campaign to get rid of township assessors, so that is where most of my political time and energies were spent. Yes, I did vote in the presidential race...so I do have the right to complain about Beloved Leader if/when he screws up...

Another side point. Our congressman voted for the bailout bill, not once, but TWICE - in spite of phone calls and e-mails his office received that ran 90 to 95 percent AGAINST the bill. So what do the sheeple do? They vote him right back into office...because he is a good Demican...and everybody knows the Demicans are for the working man! Icon_confused Icon_rolleyes (Yes, I voted for his opponent, because of the bailout bill issue.)

Baaa-aaa-aaa.

Rant mode off...

Edit: Oh, one more thing. I will agree with you, DeckApe, about voting in some presidential races being equivalent to "Meet the new boss, same as the old boss." We have had eight years of a liberal check-pants Repub who masqueraded as a conservative to get into office. And this election, our choice was between a liberal Demican and a liberal check-pants Repub who has long been a Dem wannabe. Some choice. I'm still waiting for the next Reagan...but unless the Repubs straighten out their act, get out of the country club, and get back on track with a strong conservative message...it ain't gonna happen, folks.

I'm Ron Ramirez, and I approved this message.

Powell is certainly not respected by me - he is always talking about wanting preferences and special opportunities for blacks, and I find that very offensive. Maybe we need preferences for Czech-Scotch-Irish people such as myself? (NO).
