Philco 48-200 Dial Face Cleaning - Tgace459 - 06-24-2016

I'm working on a nice little 48-200. The dial face appears to be some sort of paint or enamel on metal. It's taken on a dingy, stained cast:

Is there any suggestion for how to brighten it up without risking wiping away the paint?

I've used a number of things but an automotive hand cleaner like Gojo is usually safe on paint, and also works good on cleaning lacquer finishes and plastic, but get the cream kind without the pumice.

Test it VERY carefully on the serial number..

Philco paint can be wiped right off on many models..
