630 refinishing - Steve McDonald - 09-04-2016

What are the proper Mohawk lacquers to refinish a 630? I think the front is medium walnut and the rest is Van Dyke brown. Is this right?

Hi Steve. Here is a thread with before after pics. of one someone else did.
Hope this helps. PS don't know if I would use any stain like in this thread. Though it looks pretty nice.

630 tombstone?

RE: 630 refinishing - OldRestorer - 09-04-2016

If yes then I would use clear lacquer on the front.. Strip it and then wet it to see the color. I dont see much of a tone on the examples online. If it is toned then it is perfect brown put on very thin...
The rest is Ex Dk Brown walnut to me...

Medium Walnut on front panel (not Perfect Brown - too dark), Extra Dark Walnut on the top, sides, and bottom front trim.
