anyone recognize this radio? - murf - 02-03-2018

Hello guy's,
Sitting here listening to my RCA radio and wondering if anyone recognizes the radio on the lower left of the picture?
These are the radios that I have in my family room as there is no room in what I call my radio room.

Hi murf,

That looks like an Ozarka V-16 to me. Does yours have a huge chassis with 16 tubes on it? (two rows of 8)

A very rare radio. I think the number known to exist can be counted on two hands.

How long have you had it, that you haven't been able to ID it?

He knows what it is Rodney, he's just teasing us with the picture  Icon_e_wink

Here's the thread where he found it:

It still looks great Murf!  I take it Don finished rebuilding your chassis?  I'd actually forgotten about the radio until you posted the picture and question.....

Give the man a cigar.
It is a V16 and yes Don did finish re-capping it.
Was wondering if it was recognizable seeing as there were other similar Gothic style cabinets from the early 30's.
I understand that there only about 5 or 6 made.
Who knows.
Still not sure of its value though.
I know Don had 2 of these and sold one.
I also tracked one down that sold on eBay to a buyer that put it in a museum somewhere.
Myself, I am not impressed with the performance of the radio, but I love the walnut cabinet.
Stay warm guys,
Murf

Murf, I thought that you sold that one a while ago.

Thought about it, but never did put it up for sale.

LOL, I even remember reading that thread. Well, I fell for it. Icon_smile

Someday, I will find one myself! I figure, it's just a matter of time...

If you were to sell it, what would you imagine you might ask for it? I am brand new to radios but just happened to stumble across one in Nebraska
