Model 89L Philco tallboy circa 1933 - Guest - 09-30-2010

The finish is a bit too shiney in the photo but that was due to taking the snapshot before the finish had dried. I have a new grille cloth on the way! I had a ball doing this one. I'm not much of a 'sparkey' but the cabinets I love to do!

Great restoration! You "dunn good."
Get a 30-40ft. longwire antenna and a good ground and it will perform very well.

BTW, Philco used the term Highboy cabinet, not Tallboy.

Yes, a "tallboy" is what Chuck and I both drink after a long day at the workbench. Icon_wink

Welcome, Harold! Nice 89L there; looks like good work. I would not have polished the escutcheon to bright brass, but some fellows like to do this.

Actually Ron, my tallboy after work is a long-stemmed, double Martini.
