60 year old technology - DCASAZZA - 10-03-2010 03:38 AM

I had dinner at a friends home and as usual the talk turned tech , old and new. As we spoke of some of the old he showed us some 60 year old Christmas lights that havent burned out yet. I am amazed. These were made by Sylvania, are fluorescent and there is no ballast, just a string of c7 scockets. They are all white untill you plug them in to glow blue, green, yellow, and a coral red. He tried contacted Sylvania, now Osram, and they never heard of them. Any body familliar with these? These are really cool.

Fluorescent Christmas lights? I've never heard of that either. Sounds like they are really neat! Icon_smile

The multiple bulbs in series most likely acts as their own "ballast." Kool.
