Philco 46-480 C206 1200VDC ? - Jbaker - 09-11-2011

While recapping a Philco 46-480, I noticed that the old C206 working voltage was rated at 1200 VDC. The rest of the 0.006 caps were rated at 400 VDC and they all have the same part number on the parts list. Does anyone have any idea why C206 would be rated for 1200 VDC? I assume I need to replace it with one with the same voltage rating.

Thanks for any advice.

Jim

It may have been a replacement part long ago and that's what was on hand. Some circuits have a high peak voltage like the plate of the audio output tube. It's not just the plate voltage there's an ac component and the audio voltage. 1.2kv is bit high.
