Philco 45 tone control - don'tdomelikethat - 11-02-2005

Well the last thing to replace now that I have my 45 playing well is the caps in the tone control. I unscrewed the control from the chassis, and the part # stamped on it is different than on the schematic parts list. The 45 uses part # 30-4178. The part # on my control is 30-4313. I have Ray Bintliff's book on the Philco caps & tone controls, and I was just going to rebuild the control I have. One problem, though. The 30-4313 is not listed in Ray's book. Any ideas on how to rebuild the control I have?

Dear Mr. That,

The 30-4313 tone control part shows up as the replacement for the older 30-4178 in the 1938 Philco Parts Catalogue, so I would just wire it the same as the original, according to the 30-4178 diagram.
