To Restore or Refinish... That is the Question? - Guest - 07-23-2007

I have most of the 1935/36 Philco tombstones. I'm just now beginning on the electronic restoration, starting with a 610.

My question is on the cabinets. Most of my 600 series tombstones have pretty nice front finishes, but the sides/top have varying degrees of "flaking." At what point do most of you decide when to do a complete refinish of a cabinet as opposed to restoring the original finish?

Thanks,

When the finish looks unpresentable, poor, ratty, crappy... (insert favorite adjective here)
