I'm working on a 37-600 and noted that each tube socket has p1 grounded to chassis. Is this supposed to have metal tubes?

No, but I guess Philco wasn't taking any chances...in case someone installed metal tubes later on for some reason...

Philco refused to install metal tubes in their sets as shipped from the factory - part of their ongoing feud with RCA.

Fun little sets those '600. Worked on a few myself.

Great thanks, Ron. This set has a lot of whistles where I think stations would be. I still need to do the alignment. The alignment steps on this one are the strangest I've seen. Any advice would be appreciated.
