calling all Techs! New Auto battery to repl gasoline

Im sure many here have experimented with many types DC batterys, and I figure if we all "belly-up" to the Bar, someone here has a great "idea" for meeting John McCains "challenge" of developing a new battery that will run a car from coast-to-coast ( Im not talkin Fla.) .... on a single charge?
My "idea" of powering a fully DC vehicle, would be a "nicad" type fast-rechargable type large battery-system, that would store the "amperes-ratings" necessary for continuous operation moving a large "mass" vehicle. That would be a huge battery indeed in physical size! Perhaps heat-resistant "seat cushions could be applied over the "rear-seat" area of the vehicle where this mammoth-battery is placed in the vehicle? Then, by using a wind-powered fan blade located behind the front-grill of the vehicle,feeding a DC generator, could recharge the battery(s),.. as the vehicle reaches higher speeds during open highway operations?
As we all know, DC current on such a massive battery system would result in "massive takeoff power", ...hence, rear-ending the slower-accelerating gas powered slower "take-off" vehicles from complete stops at redlights,stopsigns,etc.
Then, there are issues that would require a new DC type "acceleration-pedal" ( rheostat),.. to slowly bring the vehicle from 0 mph- 70 mph smoothly, without using much current-draw , and not running "redhot" temps while changing DC currents in various driving conditions! DC is "instant" when power is applied!!
Perhaps using DC "power invertors" to other components of the vehicle to power the separate DC "power-steering", & disc brake systems,AC compressors, lights,etc,.. could be done simultaneously as recharging separate batteries (6v types) off the main power drive-shaft as secondary "mechanical" type rubber belts supplying other on-board secondary batteries located in various locations on the vehicle?
I love "challenges", and at least John Mc Cain stirred my interest! Thats more than Obama has done so-far !! There is some Great DC tech out there, that WILL, be able to figure all this out in the future!! Lordy, all those "$$ Millions Dollars paid to the techs that get all this sorted-out, will be major tech Heros!! Then, all us Americans can tell Hugo Chavez and his "types" major Oil producing 3rd World Countries, to "eat" their Oil, because the good ol USA aint sending nomore food supplies, etc.
The good ol USA needs all us "techie-types", to think and re-think, reverse-engineer, test, try, anything, to get away from the high-cost of gasoline. All I know is, the 1st working new DC Auto "schematic" WINS!! Any Ideas??
