vintage radio & tube testers
Hello everyone,

Would anyone know when this multi-tester & tube tester were manufactured? I cannot find any info on the internet using Google.

Thank-you

Hello!, would be my best guess that both pcs of your test gear were mfd in the early 60s, as "build it yourself" from a kit such as many mfgrs were offering at the time. Most of those type "kits" could be ordered from a backpage advertising in one of the old electronics publications back in the day, at lowcost, to be assembled with included kit-assembly instructions pages, manuals, tube-charts etc, for the "do-it-yourselfers" that were interested in the electronics hobby "entry-level" only. Similar types vintage gear can be found on eBay, usually selling at very low prices.
Although I dont recognize the mfgrs logos on your equip in your photos, perhaps others here will? Looks like the old voltohm meter could be vintage "TexasInstruments", but still, Im not sure.
Either way, with case design, knobs, etc in your photos, I would guess early 60s manufacture as a good "pre-date", you asked for. Both pcs in your photos are "entry level" at best, not trying to run-down your gear at all! Most definately NOT my intention on answering your post! Heathkit & Knight were the best/ most popular of that "kit
era indeed, and their vintage gear still sells cheap these days on eBay! Much "higher" quality tube testers & VOMs from that era were produced by mfgrs such as Hickok (tube testers), & Simpson "Vom" meters, just to name a couple of the from that era.
Best of luck identifying your vintage test gear, and remember to always fully-service both pcs well before trying-using it for accurate test measurements!! Perhaps someone else here can also help further with info! Enjoy your vintage radio hobby!! Just tryin to help if I can,... Icon_wink

Texasrocker,

Thanks for your info, i really appreciate it. I bought them both at a flea market for total of $15.00, i thought it was a good deal Icon_smile . I Will keep my eyes peeled for Heathkit, Knight, Hickok, & Simpson.

I happen to have that exact meter in working condition. It was my fathers and he used it back in the late 40's early 50's when he was taking an electronics course. Can't remember though whether or it not it came as a kit.
