In search of Leigh's address
I apologize for asking here, but no way am I posting on the Alternative Forum.

I need to contact Leigh in reference to parts I believed he supplied to me a good while ago. I know a lot of you guyz have been or are still posting on the Other Forum and probably can help me get in contact with leigh, whom left that Forum a while ago I learn.

Thanks in advance.

Syl

RE: In search of Leigh's address
Hi Syl

Leigh's Atwater Kent site is still up, it lists an e-mail address of Leigh AT atwaterkent DOT info. Don't know if this is still a good address, though.

Hi Ron,

Apparently not, from what I heard.

Too bad. His AK site is very good...lots of useful info there. I honestly do not know any other avenues of contacting him. I never knew the guy, nor did we ever correspond (at least I do not recall doing so at the moment).

Leigh helped me alot before while working on several AK sets thru the past yrs. I havent heard from him in a long time, but I still hear from the AK historian "Ray Thompson" from time to time via his emails to me.
Perhaps Ray could tell you Leighs current contact info? Im not sure, but worth a try! Ray is a retired NASA tech, well versed in the repair of Anything!, nomatter brand, etc, if its got "tubes in it", he can fix-it indeed!! He "walked me" thru my 1st full vintage AK powerpak restoration, diving into "melted tar", via email, and it was a total success!!
If all us techs here could offer Ray the "invitation" to join these Philco forums, and he accepts the offer, Lordy mercy, these pages would have yet-another GREAT vintage tube tech indeed, assured!!
Ray Thompson knows his stuff on all things AK, from the "real" to hacked vintage AK breadboard sets, all the way thru all mfgrs technology!
if anyone knows how to contact Leigh these days, Ray will !! Lets ALL invite both them over here, if possible!!?... if thats OK with Ron? Just a thought. Heres Rays email addy, be nice!!!... he is a republican!!!! (hee hee) Ray Thompson ( one of the greatest tube-techs ever!!!) Icon_wink

Did I overlook a "edit your post" option after entering my post? As you all know, Im not computer-savvy as most here!! Thats my-bad also!! Just tryin to help, thats all! Icon_wink

Randal

Look in the upper right-hand corner of every post in this, or any thread: There should be a button labeled "quote" and another labeled "edit." The "edit" is only available to you to edit your own posts, not anyone else's (i.e. you will not see an "edit" button in someone else's post, only in your posts).

Oh, and I edited the e-mail address for you Icon_smile

Yes, and the edit option is available only if you're logged in, obviously.

Thanks Ron!! I appreciate that edit very much!! I didnt see the "edit" option after I already posted. The edit option was available while I typed my post, but after I submitted it, the edit option button was not in the top corner anymore. Perhaps Im not "logging in" properly here? I just use my passwords instead. Anyways, thanks to everyone that knows more about computers than me!! Im still learning!! My dell laptop has this weird "humming sound" sometimes! Wheres the filter-caps located in this thing anyways? (hee hee)
Just trying to help Syl find Leigh again. Hopefully Ray can get them hooked up again via emails? Good intentions go bad sometimes. If so, thats "my bad". Icon_wink

Side Question,
Leigh use to have a Grebe Synchrophase website as well. It is no longer up but I am wondering if any body has a copy of the schematics that he had posted on this site. Leigh had very nicely redrawn the schematics but I never saved a copy while the site was up.

I have Leigh's schematics for the MU-1, early & late versions.
