Re: Caption This
Dunno how to caption that, but I DO know that too many funnel cakes and lemonades will give you mid-band distortion something fierce...

Re: Caption This
Hey Mike, soon as the weather cools off, Im headed for the "shed"(barn),.. of yellow-jackets to retrieve all those old 30s-40s vintage tube amplifiers! Im takin "wasp spray" with me!! Im fairly sure that most all these old vintage amps have some remaining orig good parts indeed! "Gobs of Knobs" o'plenty! If you wish, I will kindly share the vintage knobs for free of charge, only one favor asked of you! I need some help removing all that rare tube-amp inventory and loading it into my truck. It may take 2 round-trips, but Im gonna have some nice "rare" hard-to-find AC power trans , tubes, & sockets, etc, out of the deal for sure!! The "knobs" , are just the usual bakelight types. All "kidding" aside, if you can use any these vintage parts (orig knobs), lemme know your needs & I will see if I can supply them!! Hey!! ...., by the way, Thanks!! for all you do in supplying rare vintage radio-knobs! I have "1" orig butterscotch catalin DeWald knob if you need one! Lemme know ,or I can sell it on eBay ,later!

Re: Caption This
You guys should visit Evansville during the first full week in October, when the West Side Nut Club holds its annual Fall Festival.
Besides the carnival rides and games, it is one food booth after another. Two of the popular "delicacies" at this event are brain sandwiches and chocolate-covered crickets. Yes, crickets. The kind that hop around in your basement. YUCK. No, I have never tried them...and never will. I'll also pass on the brain sandwiches...thanks, but no thanks. Details for the curious: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/West_Side_N...l_Festival The club has a website, but I recommend that you do not go there. I did a Google search on this topic, and their website came up. I clicked on the link...and my Avast anti-virus scanner popped up saying the site was trying to download malware to my computer. Naturally, I clicked "Abort connection" and got out of there. Could be their site has been hijacked? I dunno. Edit: This person's blog describes some of the stuff available at the Fall Festival even better: http://ryne-ee.blogspot.com/2007/10/arou...-fall.html -- Ron Ramirez Ferdinand, IN |
