50-1423 Code 121
#1

Icon_question Newbie.... First post.

I am stumped on how to remove the tonearm on a 50-1423 code 121. I love to restore the mechanical portion of these old radios/phonograph's, but this one has me stumped. I feel bad to ask a question that probably has a simple answer, but I give up. I am trying to get to the two position needle/cartridge as I believe it is in need of replacement. If anyone knows what needle/cartridge this unit takes, that answer would be a bonus. Thanks in advance for any help.

Hi and welcome t o the Phorum!
Not sure how in comes apart some are held in by screws and some snap into a metal bracket. As for a replacement the original is made of unubtainum (can't get new one). You maybe able to find ceramic cartridge to retrofit into your tone arm but the output from the ceramic cartridge is going to be a bit less than the original crystal cartridge.
