Another great job Russ!  I've always liked that style cabinet and bought one from a friend in the 80's with a 328 chassis in it.  This was before the Internet and everyone thought it was an original chassis...... I finally found a 447 chassis a few years ago, but it was tough to find.

One little note regarding the 447 - never try to pick up the radio by grabbing the top of the cabinet - as is too often done. The 447 chassis is so heavy that you will probably end up with a 2-part cabinet - the top separated from the bottom.

When I acquired my 447 this had been done by the auction company - THANKS!

The 768Q is light enough (no transformer) to not apply to this warning. Still maybe the glue has failed? Best to pick it up by the bottom.

AK made some superbly looking radios.

People who do not drink, do not smoke, do not eat red meat will one day feel really stupid lying there and dying from nothing.

They tried to make their radios good quality too. Some of their choices like rubber insulated wire and the resistor design just didn't hold up as well as some of the options that they could have taken. No fault of theirs - as they say, only time will tell.

There are 2 videos of the radio in operation, in the post.

Yes it works very well except for it's limited audio  output frequency range.
