Good laugh but scary
Check the forum on NA. Norm Leal tried to help a guy with a simple resistor combination. Then some "experts" and "rememberers" showed up. Kinda funny, but disappointing.

How about a link, so that those of us who do not participate in the NA forum will know what the H**l it is that you are talking about???

Sorry, I should have. Looks like that thread has been removed now. Syl mentioned something about one of the posters screwing up things. If it shows up again, I'll try a link.

Thread has been deleted by the site owner. About time.

I fixed twice the damage 2 days ago but the same retard kept coming back
in the thread and create the same damage over and over again so I quit.
I have better time to spend than getting threads back on line as the site
owner just doesn't care. Too bad, I enjoyed the funny thread...

There are a few morons over there screwing things up, posting anonymously (cowardly is a better definition)
insulting everyone (they can barely type proper english so I suspect they never
finish high-school). One of them has found a way to screw the pages by simply adding a few lines of
HTML (actually just one command). I predicted NA would soon vanish is nothing is done as it is
easy to create havoc as HTML is not filtered. Actually, worse can be done as PHP can also be injected
and linked outside NA. That website has become a sad joke lately. If you own a site and don't have time
to monitor what's up and track offenders, might as well close it.

Re: Good laugh but scary
It really is a shame to see the Nostalgia Air website be abused! Good time to invest in Riders manuals for those that dont own them already, as the NA site will most probably have to be off-air eventually because of general "in-decency" amongst the posters in that forum area. Too bad if that happens, free JF Riders schemats online will dissappear altogether.Luckily, Im prepared here in my shop, just in case ,with actual JF Riders books. The ebay Riders complete volumes CDs are ok, but not as "legible", as the real thing!
This vintage radio-restoration hobby has now developed some real "newbies wannabes tube techs", that explode with a "attitude"online!, with very nasty words to boot! ?? Your thoughts please!!? Last time I looked at the Nostalgiaairs websites "forum", it was very embarrassing, to see this "hobby", we all enjoy, go to the point of complete-rudeness!!
It is very obvious, that N.A.(forums), needs a new administrator to police it !!!..from the "nasty" posters , ruining the hobby for ALL that even accidentally find it on the internet? ?, by accident??
Nuff Said!!
Man-o-man, thats the kind of "talk",... that ruins this vintage tube tech(s) hobby,.. Period!! ?? A tube techs hobby,.. thats well over 100 yrs old, and some newbie techs think they have it all figured out yet!! Imagine that!! Even the best tube-techs can be "challenged" from time to time, even Norm, and every other good tech still participating in this hobby! Bad-language allowed on the internet by ANY vintage radio website, should be policed, to make sure things dont get out-of-hand to spoil it for future newbies entering the hobby! Just my .02 Icon_rolleyes

I disagree. While it is true the younger generation is somewhat impolite and rude, the NA case of rudeness and anonymous posts is obviously from regulars. Regulars you might
find here but especially on ARF. I have a very good idea who's the troublemaker at NA. I told NA's site owner that I'd pay for the trouble maker's IPs and
take care of the problem. He never bothered replying so that tells me a lot.

You would be amazed to know who is behind the most rude posts over there. AFAIK, they are only words
on screen and as long as they stay as such I am fine with that. If it becomes personal like it
happened not long ago on RARP, then I swiftly act to get rid of the problem, and it works.

On a side note, I strongly doubt the schematics resources to disappear should NA'S forum do. But better safe than sorry...

Syl
