Use your Talents to survive this economy!
As a small business owner myself for over 15 yrs, DONT take anymore "pinkslips" , period!! Use the Talents you have, and start your own small businesses! That way, your economy, lies on your back, enlightened by the overall US economy in general, and "proves" that putting more tax-money back into your customers pockets, ( instead of taking it from US taxpayers away, under the current adm),... will "prove" beyond a doubt, that the Reagan admin policys WORKED for EVERY American!!
Customers "line up" to "spend" spare US $$$ ,... when they feel comfortable doing so, with their tax dollars back in their pockets! Been watching the US economy closely for many, many yrs, and the NoBama plan with Wash intervention, is "scary" at best, but now is a good time to "take your talents" and start your own businesses before Wash has total control of every Americans future!!? Just a thought!! Bite the "bullet"!! Be dependent on yourself for your income!! Results of your "trial" will show you the correct-path to take at your local voting booths also! Your votes count!!, and Americas free-healthcare plan ISNT going to work either nomatter what you read or hear on the News! Simple suggestion here voters, Go to any your nearest Hospitals, and "ask" the staff! If you want to be independent of "Corporate America", use your God given talents, and go-for-it!! Your yearly income-tax reports will show you "what works in America", ( reducing taxes),.. as opposed to "raising taxes" on Americans, period! Dont agree?.. try making your own-living with a US small-business, and then and only then, will you find the correct voting=booths in each Americans future? Its Americas "small businesses" that really fuel Americas future economy, and if you ever own one as I do, it keeps your voting-practices in "check" indeed! Im glad I started my small-business many yrs ago! Even NoBama's lib admin, will ever be able to hand me a "PINK SLIP"!I have too many word-of-mouth return customers, that seek quality talent for my personal endeavors in life. Its simple really! Do a honest days work for a fair-price, and US citizens that get their tax-dollars back in their pockets, SPEND!! That "rotation" of the US economy has been working since 1776! Go figure!! If you have more money to spend via your personally earned tax dollars, the US economy works!! Your thoughts please! |

Re: Use your Talents to survive this economy!
There are a lot of people out there who would not survive in a small business situation, Tex. It doesn't matter what their talents happen to be... without the drive and dedication to be one's own worst boss, the business will fail. A small business owner has to be willing to put everything else on the back burner when times demand it--themselves, their family, their friends, their church, their EVERYTHING. If you want 'time off,' that isn't a vacation. That's unemployment.
There are a great many people out there, myself included, who are satisfied working for The Man. If you want to liken working for someone else to a "government handout," feel free, but someone has to sanitize the restroom for your comfort. |

Re: Use your Talents to survive this economy!
I think everyone should try their hand at sartting their own business at least once in their career. It's hard work, requires sacrifices, especially in the beginning, learning new skills, and a detailed plan (which will be fine tuned along the way.) Seek advice from others who have gone before you (not your direct competition, though.) You would be surprised how generous folks who have small businesses are with referrals and "war stories." Just keep it brief and to the point, as these people are busy, and their time is their livelihood. You're going to need a well thought out plan if you need to borrow money to get started and continue to eat until the business starts to make a profit.
If you can start out part time and grow the business little by little without taking on debt, that's a great way to do it. That's a great way to make the transition if you can swing it. If you do what you love, or at least what you like, it doesn't seem much like work. If you think you would like to do something, let's say run a bakery, but never did it before, go visit a couple of them far enough away from where you would start one, and see if you could help out for a week in exchange for some mentoring. You'll know at the end of that week if it's right for you. In any case if really didn't enjoy your work in the past, doing it on your own will not be any more rewarding. If you want to go to garage sales (and out and about on trash night) and pick up old radios, fix 'em or part 'em out and peddle them on Ebay, give it a try. The rest of us who are doing something else full time will buy this stuff. Could you make a living doing this? Honestly I do not know, but I'm sure others reading this thread could have information to share with us. Good luck All. |
