I wasn't around yet.

(edit) It would be another four years and just under three months before I made the scene. Icon_lol

Well, I was another 10 years off... Icon_lol But, I'm just glad both the folks are still around and doing well! I keep chisling on my dad, now age 72, to get into the old Philcos, what with his electronics background, but he won't have anything to do with it, preferring the 1970s gear instead. I'll get him over here before it's over with! Icon_biggrin

Re: What were you doing on January 19th 1956?
This was a watershed period in my life. I was eight and my 14 year old cousin baby sitter introduced me to Rock and Roll. Thanks to her I remember seeing Elvis on Ed Sullivan and was far more familiar with early rock than my peers. I play pinochle with her weekly and have thanked her many times.

Since that was a Thursday, I was a 7-year old kid playing in the backyard snow with
my 5-year old sister probably after we got home from school.

Re: What were you doing on January 19th 1956?
I was 9 months old and likely taking the usual afternoon nap bundled in a baby buggy, you know the big old ones the size of a grocery cart, on the front porch in Lockport NY. Not sure why Mom realy did that, she said "the cold was good for you" . That was her story and she was sticken to it. I survived and live to tell this tale.

Well, thank you! Icon_biggrin I already have. Anniveraries are no big deal, I suppose, but whenever it goes over 50 years, Icon_eek well, it's worth noting irregardless! Thank you all for weighing in! I really appreciate it!! Icon_wink
