Re: I have cancer.
Glad to hear you are OK. Don't forget to send a thank you note to your surgeon and doctors. They don't get many of these.

At this point I don't think one cold one is out of the question.

Re: I have cancer.
Thanks for the suggestion, Codefox; unfortunately, as long as I am on the pain meds, any form of alcohol is VERBOTEN.

Once I am better, though...back to where I can stay on my feet for long periods of time, go upstairs without getting sick, and get off the meds...it will be time to celebrate! Icon_biggrin

Mayhaps, Ron, some of us would be willing to have one or two in your honor, until you can partake yourself. Meanwhile, congrats again on your prognosis and I know I speak for one and all when I say we couldn't be happier with the news. Icon_biggrin Here's to a quick, full recovery! *SHNANFT!*

Re: I am a cancer survivor! (was: I have cancer)
I appreciate all of you...I really do.

I'm slowly rejoining the human race. Last night was the most "normal" I have felt since before the surgery. I spent some time upstairs, and it did not make me sick! Back upstairs this morning, off and on, trying not to overdo. Still somewhat tired, but much less so than before.

The fall semester of college starts on Monday. I can't say that I will be 100% ready...but maybe I will be able to handle the beginning of the semester after all.

Re: I am a cancer survivor! (was: I have cancer)
That's great news! I was hoping and praying that they would get it all in one operation like they just did for a friend of mine here. We'll wait until you are fully better, break out the radios, and rock and roll party! Icon_biggrin

No matter where you go, there you are.

Ron,
You are a beloved member of the antique radio community! We are all so glad that you came through so well. The peace of mind can only help with your college studies. Don't know how you are able to find so much time to help others with their radio problems. You are obviously a giving person who enjoys doing so. Wish you continued success!

Dear Lord!
I haven't been on here in such a long time that I knew nothing about this until today. In any event at least the cancer is remission, thank the Lord that you caught it early! Like many things health wise it's best to get on top of it right away.
Best Regards
Arran

Re: I am a cancer survivor! (was: I have cancer)
Again, to everyone...thank you. Icon_smile

Getting stronger every day and feeling more and more like normal as I go. I go back to the surgeon this Thursday for a follow-up, but I do not anticipate any problems since no additional cancer cells were found in the removed tissue.

I started trying to play college catch-up a few days ago. The fall semester started on Monday, August 23; I was not ready. I am now.

And I had my first beer since the surgery this past Thursday. Icon_biggrin I stopped taking painkillers one week ago today; I could not have any "cold ones" while that stuff was in my system.
