RCA Redbooks
I am trying to have a television restored and have run into a roadblock. I need some information from Volume 6 of the "Red Books" that RCA put out as Product Change Bulletins. The chassis number is KCS40A and the model number is T164. The information should begin on page 261. Can anyone help?

Hi Howard,

I may be able to help. I have RCA Redbook Volume 6 and I see your model T164 starting on page 261, and continuing for about 30 pages thereafter. Exactly what info do you need?

Probably all pages. I would hate to have to ask over and over. What would it cost me to get copies of those pages?

Hi Howard,

You may want to edit your signature file in your profile so we don't keep on
getting your "wanted RCA info" with every post you make. Icon_smile

RE: RCA Redbooks
Howard,

Rather than go to the trouble and expense of Xerox and postage for the info in the Redbook, here is another option:

Service data for your RCA TV was also published in Sams Photofacts. Photofact #109-11 covers your particular set. These are available from several online sellers, I can recommend John Kendall at

http://www.vintage-electronics.com

who has the Photofact you need at $5.99, including postage.

The gentleman who is working on my Television has the Sams Photofacts. They are not specific enough on the service change information on the specific chassis number KCS40A. That is why he has requested that I try to find the Redbook information.

RCA Redbook
Poston,
Do you think you might be able to help me? Apparently there were changes made in the vertical oscillator circuit, the horizontal oscillator circuit and the sync circuit. This information is in the redbook, but according to my friend, not is Sams. This information is particular to this chassis - KCS40A - not the KCS40 or KCS40B. Maybe this will isolate the information needed.

Hi Howard,

Yes, if you need the information in the Redbook I can Xerox it for you and send it via US mail. Send me an email with your mailing address.
