Interesting story
A good friend of mine posted this to me:
I can watch that film over and over and over and over again! As a matter-of-fact I watched it again from your URL. I just love it. All equipment is either Western Electric or RCA, which leads me to believe it may have been a CBS studio. If it were NBC, all gear would have been RCA. BTW, the violin Rubinoff was playing was a real "Stradavarius". He paid $10,000 for it in 1933 from money he was loaned by a mob loan shark. Through probably no fault of his own he defaulted on the loan. Rather than break his body parts the mob figured he couldn't pay them back if they broke his hands. That was how he earned his livelihood. Instead they spared him his life so he could eventually pay them back - a true story. The big jugs, if you're referring to the large glass air cooled ones, they're WE 212D's or something similar. They bring big money on evilbay. Regard's Joe |
