Re: Happy Thanksgiving!
Happy belated Thanksgiving wishes everyone! I ate too much as always! ha.,especially homemade pecan pie! During the week I also fired up (via my varaic) a completely rewired, fully recapped ,Philco 41-280 chassis a customer shipped me for restoration. It needs new tubes to replace all the original tubes, especially in the front end to improve reception/ sensitivity, audio, etc., so I am re-tubing the whole radio once I receive the replacements and do final alignments. Another Philco 41-280 chassis saved here in Texas before and during the holiday week. Lots of work involved restoring it step by step indeed! The customer also did a superb job restoring his Cabinet also. Should make a very nice set once he reinstalls the chassis! All these old rusty Philco's chassis' belch back to life if enough love and time is given indeed! This particular old rusty Philco radio chassis had lots of problems to chase down, but I caught up with all them, one at a time, and it looks nice with new chassis paint also, all rust gone in critical areas.Another 41-280 chassis Saved!! Have a great Thanksgiving weekend everyone! Icon_thumbup

Re: Happy Thanksgiving!
Well, as it turns out, Thanksgiving is celebrated on October 10th in Canada. I guess Red Green and the gang at Possum Lodge couldn't wait until the end of November, and the rest of the country followed suit...eh! Icon_wink

Or, Tex, maybe you have a lot of fans up north, and they are really celebrating your birthday and just calling it Thanksgiving Day! Icon_lol

Re: Happy Thanksgiving!
it is celebrated the 2nd monday of october up north. You guys have Colombus day at the same time, I think.

Being gratefull for a good harvest doesn't much sense when the country is covered in snow, so waiting till november wouldn't make much sense for Canada.

Also, Thanksgiving is a H**l lot smaller for us. We don't really celebrate it, other than having a day off.

Some day, I need to visit friends in the states and do a whole US version of it, seems like fun. Happy turkey day to you all!
