Good news and bad news.
Well, on the good news side I just purchased a roughly 10x26ft office trailer for $500. That should definitely help my storage issues once I figure out how to get it hauled down from Green, OH to my place. Icon_think
On the bad news side, my 81 Dodge pickup croaked today. Barely got home after getting some new shoes. Seems the carburator is fouled up, possibly a bad float. So, there goes any radio money for now. Hopefully it's nothing else wrong as I really had to wind the engine up just to keep it going. Think was cracking and backfiring like crazy whenever I let up on the fuel an then I had to struggle to get through every light in town. Icon_sad

Keep an eye on the rest of your appliances, they like to go in groups!
On the vehicle news side, turns out my float is fine. The gaskets in teh caburator and seal to the manifold were totally shot! You could wobble the carb around on the intake without touching the bolts. It will need a kit and a new jet inside to get it back up to 100%. Might also have someone hired to move my office trailer for me. That will cost roughly $200, but will be worth it in the end.

Re: Good news and bad news.
@ Jayce, you got a great deal on the extra Trailer office/ workshop/ storage space! Congrats! I once owned a 78 Dodge Van ( 318 c.i. V-8 engine). It had carb probs also. A new carb kit fixed it, but the kit came with 2 different gaskets for the bottom tank on the carb. Make sure you use the one that is correct. I didn't, once I changed it, my old Dodge never ran better! Good Luck!!

@ Codefox, sorry your Fridge quit working! I know the feeling indeed!! I was also plagued by multiple house problems just before Christmas. In late November, I had a slow water leak under my old pier & beam house built in the early 60's. Found out all the old galvanized water pipes weren't work fixing. I had the whole house (hot & cold water lines) re-plumbed underneath my house with "pex" flex pipe, new pex type manifold, expensive crimp-on fittings, and new cutoffs. Cost me a little over 1 grand $$ !! That was a Merry Christsmas I didn't expect at all! (hee hee)
Then, a week later, the radiator started leaking on my daughters 99 Toyota Camry I gave her to use as a school car. That cost another 325. $$ for the Mida's auto techs to replace. Then it leaked after picking it up. They ( Midas guys) finally fixed it last week under warranty. I wish I had a Pep Boys here locally, Manny, Moe, & Jack, speak English!!
Best of luck to all us that experience " Murphy's Law" instead of Ohm's Law!! Rock On Brothers!! Icon_thumbup

Re: Good news and bad news.
Got the office trailer as ready as can be done for transport. It should be happening tomorrow if all goes right. DId some measurements and it is actually a 10x32ft office trailer. Bonus! Actually only supposed to have an 8ft wide unit here, but I think I can fudge things. A couple photos I took while on location before coming back home:[attachment=1][attachment=0]

Re: Good news and bad news.
It could be somthing as simple as your fuel filter. Carb problems usually start small and get progressively worse. Backfiring sounds like a timing issue. Distributor/timing chain, etc... If it was running hot, maybe a serious vacum leak??
