I will get a pic on later:

I found a can looking unit with four prongs that would fit into a tube tester. part number on top: 41-317c-3? 2" thick 5" high part number on bottom 7281
Is this a cap?

Almosts sounds like a type of vibrator made for a battery operated radio. I think there were a few four pin types out there.

No matter where you go, there you are.

At work and can't use my archive, but it could also be a ballast resistor, if that is a AC/DC set with series string filaments.

Looks like a vibrator for an old 6v car radio.

RE: lil Can 41-317c-3
It's either a vibrator or some sort of relay, a ballast resistor would have holes in it for ventilation.

As a side note when shaken it feels like something is moving around. I thought maybe it was broken.

RE: lil Can 41-317c-3
Vibrators, the works are mounted in rubber inside the can to deaden the buzzing sound they make when operating. Most of them with 4 pins the two fat pins (1 and 4) are connected to coil. If you apply 6volts ac or dc it will make a buzzing sound.
