RE: Philco Neon sign
Very cool looking sign. Is that an original 1930's or a replica?

RE: Philco Neon sign
Oh, very nice. Why can't I find stuff like that around here? All I ever find are beer signs! LOL
No matter where you go, there you are. |

RE: Philco Neon sign
That bottom part that says RADIOS isn't original. The original panel would have had the name of the local dealer painted on it.
Otherwise, I agree that it is a very cool sign. -- Ron Ramirez Ferdinand, IN |

RE: Philco Neon sign
The signs I find usually have too many zeros in the price....

RE: Philco Neon sign
Original or reproduction, that first Philco sign is truly a work of art. It's a great example of beautiful craftsmanship. We are lucky to have the chance to see it. Thanks for sharing.

RE: Philco Neon sign
I think that those signs are actually newer then the 1930s, I've seen similar signs advertised in Philco trade bulletins from the late 40's early 50s, along with signs using that diamond shaped logo about offering factory approved service. How long they made them in that style is anyone's guess, once Philco adopted the black letter logo there wasn't much reason to change.

RE: Philco Neon sign
Here's a similar Philco Neon sign photo I came across on the Greenbelt Museum web site ( http://greenbeltmuseum.org/education/ )
