Sad news
I received the following email this morning:

Quote:I am a personal friend of Hank Brazeal for over thirty years and have had him re-cone many speakers for me. Unfortunately he has had a major stroke and does not respond to emails or telephone calls.
Essentially he is not doing speakers anymore.

This is going to be a loss to the antique radio community. Sure, there are other companies and individuals who recone speakers, but Hank is well known and appreciated by many collectors.

I hope you will join me in wishing Hank all the best as he struggles with these health issues.

RE: Sad news
I have never had work done by Hank but I've heard nothing but good about his work. He will be in my thoughts and prayers.

RE: Sad news
Verey sorry for the apparent loss of a fine person and true craftsmen.

Don'r think we need to fire up the shortwave to send him a prayer.

He listens.

RE: Sad news
My thoughts and prayers are with him and his family. Never have had a speaker reconed yet, but have five that need it.

No matter where you go, there you are.

RE: Sad news
Well this really sucks. I had Hank re-cone the speaker for my 71B last year. Super nice guy, and he does really great work. Defiantly a loss to the Antique radio community.

RE: Sad news
I was very sad to hear about Hank. He reconed a 1929 speaker for me a few months ago and it was beautiful. Not only did Hank do excellent work he is a great person to visit with. Hope and pray for his recovery.

RE: Sad news
Bummer. Hate it when we lose good talent and a good person.

RE: Sad news
My understanding is Hank is about 94 years old.
I also have heard all good things about him and his quality of work.

RE: Sad news
As my mother would tell me "getting old isn't for sissies". God bless Hank and wish him recovery. I have seen folks' advertise sets and mention that Hank reconed the speaker as a point of pride and a selling point.

Hope he pulls through.
