Article on Building A Voltage Reducer
There used to be a good article on the BAMA site that had step-by-step instructions on how to build a voltage reducer to step down line voltage going to vintage electronics that normally ran on lower line voltage. I couldn't find it there now but I did save a copy back in 2004. Here is a quote from the first paragraph of the article:

"Over the past few decades, the standard line voltage in the United States, and perhaps elsewhere too, has been increased from 110 to 117 to 120 volts. Needless to say, the gear produced for operation on 110 volts will run considerably hotter today than it's designers ever intended. The following easy to build project from Ed Richards, K6UUZ, provides a cheap and practical solution to this problem."

I have attached a copy of this article for anyone who is interested.

Geoff

Thanks very much for providing this!

Since this is a downloadable file, I am moving this thread to Philco Downloadable Files. Even though it pertains to all vintage radios, not just Philco, it will be found more easily there in the future.

Thanks again! Icon_thumbup
