Contact Paper

I have an old eight track player that is covered with textured "Vinyl Wood grain Veneer". Very authentic looking. I put Watco spray can lacquer on one side and it went on with no problems. On the other side I first brushed on Polycrylic. The Watco went on that just as well.

I tested two pieces of contact shelving paper. On one I sprayed the Watco on and it puddled up in some places and the puddles took longer to dry. On the other I first brushed on Polycrylic and The Watco went on evenly and dried evenly.

If you try any of these papers and have trouble with lacquer, test the Polycrylic on it.
