Philco for 1931 (introduced Fall 1931)<\/h2>\n

Three mod\u00adels were added to the Philco line\u00adup in the Fall of 1931. The ear\u00adly Mod\u00adel 50 Baby Grand sets used mod\u00adi\u00adfied Mod\u00adel 70 cab\u00adi\u00adnets; although soon after, the Mod\u00adel 50 received its own unique Baby Grand cab\u00adi\u00adnet. A Mod\u00adel 50 low\u00adboy and a grand\u00adfa\u00adther clock with a Mod\u00adel 70 chas\u00adsis also joined the Philco lineup.<\/p>\n

A few exam\u00adples of these have sur\u00adfaced in recent years. It is obvi\u00adous\u00adly a Mod\u00adel 70 Baby Grand cab\u00adi\u00adnet that has been redrilled in the bot\u00adtom to accept the Mod\u00adel 50 chas\u00adsis, and with a new front pan\u00adel drilled to fit the 50 chas\u00adsis. While it was ini\u00adtial\u00adly thought that these were \"cus\u00adtom jobs\" done by col\u00adlec\u00adtors years after the fact, enough of these have now been found to estab\u00adlish their originality.<\/p>\n
