The com\u00adpa\u00adny offered a three tube short\u00adwave con\u00advert\u00ader, as well as two con\u00adsoles which offered <span class=\"caps\">AM<\/span> as well as short\u00adwave coverage.<\/p>\n<p>A new, small clock with a built-in radio also debuted in Jan\u00adu\u00adary&nbsp;1932.<\/p>\n<p>Philco began to work towards high fideli\u00adty repro\u00adduc\u00adtion with two new mod\u00adels, the <span class=\"caps\">90X<\/span> and <span class=\"caps\">112X<\/span>. These mod\u00adels fea\u00adtured a speak\u00ader which was tilt\u00aded at a spe\u00adcif\u00adic angle, which was though to allow high\u00ader fre\u00adquen\u00adcy audio waves to bet\u00adter reach the listener.<\/p>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Model_Index\"><\/span>Model Index<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>The fol\u00adlow\u00ading mod\u00adels were dis\u00adcon\u00adtin\u00adued: 50 Baby Grand, 50 Low\u00adboy. This unit cov\u00aders three bands from 1500 kc (1.5 <span class=\"caps\">MC<\/span>) to 19 <span class=\"caps\">MC<\/span>. Unlike many con\u00advert\u00aders offered by oth\u00aders, how\u00adev\u00ader, Philco's Mod\u00adel 4 had its own pow\u00ader supply.<\/p>\n<p>It oper\u00adat\u00aded by being hooked up to an <span class=\"caps\">AM<\/span> radio which was then tuned to 1000 kc. The <span class=\"caps\">SW<\/span> con\u00advert\u00ader was then turned on, and was used for tun\u00ading in short\u00adwave sta\u00adtions.
