There were now 32 all-new Philco radios to choose from, along with the Mod\u00adel 4 short\u00adwave con\u00advert\u00ader left over from Jan\u00adu\u00adary&nbsp;1932.<\/p>\n<p>Unfor\u00adtu\u00adnate\u00adly, this was the wrong time for Philco to be so ambi\u00adtious. 1932 was the worst year of the Depres\u00adsion, so many sets in the new Philco line sold poorly.<\/p>\n<p>Most of the new Philco line used 6.3 volt fil\u00ada\u00adment tubes, the same tubes that had been devel\u00adoped for auto radios. The rest of the radio indus\u00adtry would even\u00adtu\u00adal\u00adly adopt the 6.3 volt standard.<\/p>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Model_Index\"><\/span>Model Index<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>Mod\u00adel 4 Short\u00adwave Con\u00advert\u00ader remained in the Philco line\u00adup.
