{"id":844,"date":"2017-02-12T20:49:26","date_gmt":"2017-02-12T20:49:26","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/lostlacquer.site\/?page_id=844"},"modified":"2017-02-12T20:49:26","modified_gmt":"2017-02-12T20:49:26","slug":"1938a","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/philcoradio.com\/gallery2\/1938a\/","title":{"rendered":"1938 (June&nbsp;1937)"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2>Philco for 1938 (introduced June&nbsp;1937)<\/h2>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Overview\"><\/span>Overview<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>The new 1938 line was expand\u00aded to 69 dif\u00adfer\u00adent mod\u00adels, and includ\u00aded sev\u00ader\u00adal new mod\u00adels as well as the return of some 1937 mod\u00adels, some of which were housed in new cabinets.<\/p>\n<p>Philco offered five mod\u00adels with the 1937 Auto\u00admat\u00adic Tun\u00ading mech\u00ada\u00adnism, as well as sev\u00aden with their new \"Cone-Cen\u00adtric\" auto\u00admat\u00adic tuning.<\/p>\n<p>A major sell\u00ading point of the new 1938 Philcos was \"No Squat, No Stoop, No Squint.\" This referred to their new \"<span class=\"caps\">XX<\/span>\" mod\u00adels with inclined con\u00adtrol pan\u00adels. Eight of Philco's 1938 con\u00adsole mod\u00adels had this feature.<\/p>\n<p>No radio-phono\u00adgraphs were mar\u00adket\u00aded by Philco dur\u00ading the 1938 sea\u00adson; this was, instead, han\u00addled by the Radio\u00adbar Com\u00adpa\u00adny of Amer\u00adi\u00adca which offered sev\u00aden dif\u00adfer\u00adent \"Phono\u00adgraph with Philco\" mod\u00adels which used Philco radio chas\u00adsis and Cape\u00adhart auto\u00admat\u00adic record chang\u00aders in cab\u00adi\u00adnets built by Radiobar.<\/p>\n<p>Philco offered four chair\u00adside mod\u00adels for 1938, as well as two High Fideli\u00adty mod\u00adels (38-116XX and 38-690XX).<\/p>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Model_Index\"><\/span>Model Index<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>All 1937 Philco mod\u00adels were dis\u00adcon\u00adtin\u00adued.
