Philco for 1948 (introduced June 1947)<\/h2>\n

At mid-sea\u00adson, Philco dis\u00adcon\u00adtin\u00adued a farm set, a few Philco Tran\u00adsi\u00adtone mod\u00adels, one portable and the big AM<\/span>\/FM<\/span> Mod\u00adel 48-475. They also expand\u00aded their con\u00adsole radio-phono\u00adgraph line while adding one con\u00adsole mod\u00adel and two new portable sets.<\/p>\n

For the first time since the 1946 sea\u00adson, Philco was offer\u00ading a con\u00adsole radio that did not include a record chang\u00ader. This set received the AM<\/span> band only. It did not sell very well.<\/p>\n

While both mod\u00adels look alike, the 601 oper\u00adat\u00aded on bat\u00adter\u00adies only while the 602 could oper\u00adate on 115 volts AC<\/span> or DC<\/span> cur\u00adrent, or on batteries.<\/p>\n

The design would influ\u00adence a new table mod\u00adel Philco radio which would become avail\u00adable six months lat\u00ader for the 1949 sea\u00adson. This radio-phono\u00adgraph includes an AM<\/span> radio and a sin\u00adgle-play phono\u00adgraph which oper\u00adates in a sim\u00adi\u00adlar man\u00adner to Mod\u00adels 46-1201 and 48-1201.<\/p>\n
