The trend in automotive design was moving in the same direction at the time, as were the design and construction of then-new \u201cranch\u201d houses. (Full disclosure: I live in a Mid Century ranch house built in 1960.) Avery Fisher, a designer himself, had to have been influenced by these trends in design. I feel it is reflected in the overall long, low, symmetrical look of Fisher equipment made from 1958 into the mid-1960s.
