Hello folks,
I've recently picked up what I thought was model 91 (by the Slusser book and pic of cabinet). Turns out, it has a model 16 chassis in it. -- 11 tubes vs. 9. I've begun re-capping, obtained the schematic from Nostalgia Air...and ran into the first stumbling block yesterday...a 6287J bakelite block, not listed ...Someone on AntiqueRadio.com straightened me out on that one and sent me a page of "updates" for discontinued bakelites. That 6287J was changed to a 6287ODG which was to .015's ...That being done, I moved on and two bakelites later hit another 6287 problem. This one is a 6287F...The discontinued list calls it a 6287ODU..which also crosses to two .015's . My dilemma is that both the schematic AND the parts list refer to it as a .3 .....The one I've found on the schematic (#91 if my memory serves me correctly) shunts the power supply filter and choke...it's value above the component and in the parts list is .3, although the part number is listed as a 6287F..crossing to a 6287ODU- 2-.015's . What's correct here? Any help greatly appreciated.

JoeinRI, hi again. The 6287 ODU is two .15mfd, 1-2 and 1-3. When you wire the block pins 2-3 tied together effectively making it a .3mfd. Its the external wiring that makes the difference not the internal. Same block could be used over othe side of a chassis without tying the 2-3 pins and wired individual .15mfd in to curcuits. PL
Thanks PL! Thought I'd try my luck with both Forums! Unfortunately I won't be looking at it today...not until late in the day. I'm on my way to N.H. to pick up a Victrola soundbox that an antique shop owner found for me. If I come right back, maybe I can be back by early afternoon to dive back into this set. The weeks vacation is going by too fast.
