Grrrrrrrrr!

Tried stripping Mikes cabinet today and found out that it was polyurethaned!

Now I have to Bix it!

He's a feisty lil'fella, ain't he!
Has anyone heard from Kirk lately?
No. I wrote him, no reply yet. Hope he's OK.
Working on the center cabinet issues. The veneer had buckled on a burl in the veneer causing a lift and separation right in the center of the cabinet arch. Making an insert to back the cabinet while clamping.
I don't think the veneer on the wrap-around is original. I have never seen a Clyde Shuler Philco cabinet with the grain running up and over.

Steve
Judging by the finish (however damaged it was) when I got it, the finish was original. If it was, so was the veneer. Unless it wasn't.
Possible...
The holes in this cabinet are definitely suspect. They are deep like someone covered them without filling them.
It is a very old finish if it is re-veneered.
I have seen them with the grain running this way though.

Yeah, I am bringing a cigar I bought in Florida Icon_smile I think tobacco is safer than paint chemicals. Icon_lol P!us keeps away mosquitoes and unwanted conversational partners.
Oh....and a cooler too!
I have made the insert for gluing the  center issues on the cabinet.
I will apply the Glue and clamp the heck out of it until tomorrow.
I went and got new filters for my mask so hopefully these odor blockers will help instead of the dust ones.
They will be good for when the boys come over too Icon_wink

im finally gonna try to repair the veneer issues on the center of the arch.
Back to work!
Hurry up! Kutztown is only a month away! Icon_lol
I think I am finally done gluing!
