Just wanted to say, a product called Briwax did an excellent job on the rough finish on a Philco 20 I just got. The sides were too light (looked sun faded) and rough. The Briwax did an excellent job. We had it for other antiques and I had forgot I had it. It' a wax with stain or color in it. I'm sure it's been mentioned before, but wanted To add my .02
