I saw this on ePay... and got it for $10.50 plus shipping, I'd bid a max of $19.75 because the shipping was $40.25, and I didn't want to pay more than $60 total. From the back it looks to be in fairly good shape, and the ad said "it works well." whatever that means.

LOL... I really AM hopelessly addicted to antique radios.
Those can be very good players. Great find!
Yes, this is my second one. I love my first one. The sound is excellent, very rich, and the reception is quite good on all bands, even with the built in antennae. They are a bit of a bear to align on the FM just right when you don't have the sweep generator. but it CAN be done. I did it, and the FM works quite well. I am going to put this on the shelf though, for a while. I am in the middle of a 37-61, LOL

Kirk........you really have to do some thinning out!
Heyo,
That is an old picture. The garage is empty now Icon_smile
Shipping was $40.00! sheesh

Me
LOL, Kirk, there are parts of my house that look almost like that now. Remember, I've had this addiction since I was 12 years old ! Why, why, WHY do I keep buying more of them ? Like I said.... hopeless.
You guys need to start going to "radioholics anonymous" secret meetings.
Although as I have heard, usually they end up buying more radios off of each other.
Maybe it is Hopeful not Hopeless so I hope it arrives well. I love those internal antennas, work good and look sharp. Good luck.

Paul
"These people are turning their addiction into something positive.  Every radio they bring home means another has been saved from the landfill or worse, being repurposed into a wine rack, MP3 player or Steampunk atrocity.  Won't you help these brave souls carry out their mission?  Won't you please help preserve these great examples of vintage style and technology?  Won't you please donate a vintage radio to your local collector today?  This has been a public service announcement from the council to prevent radio repurposing, thank you."   Icon_wink
Ah, Squire, I remember the days when folks WOULD gladly donate the "old radio that has been sitting in the attic" just to get rid of it. I got several of my radios that way back in the '60s. Today people know they are antiques and folks will pay good money for them, so such generosity is a lot less frequent. Funny how the "junk" of fifty years ago are now the "antiques" of today.
I like that set, cabinet looks good, chassis is clean; if you can get replacement buttons, will look nice. Careful with the dial glass!
Well, it arrived today, and there is good news, and there is bad news. The good news is that it seems to have arrived in sound condition. The finish is shot and will have to be re-done on the top and sides. The photofinish seems OK. The speaker cloth is immaculate, and makes me VERY happy with my choice of that whiskey rayon on my earlier one. In great shape this looks very much like it, just lighter a bit. I won't have to replace this cloth.

Now the bad news.......

WHY, WHY, WHY !!!!!! would ANYBODY pack a radio so the peanuts get all inside it ? (Never underestimate the stupidity of the public.) Gonna have a fun time cleaning it all out.

Is that all you got? Icon_smile
I keep asking, PLEADING for sellers not to use peanuts. They're a PITA, near impossible to control when unpacking, and, worst of all, IT COSTS ME $8 A BAG TO DISPOSE OF THEM!
