Steve, thanks for the info. I did fill mine with epoxy. My real concern was the heat generated inside the plastic tube. The 16k resistor I made was physically smaller than what the size of the old dog bone was. It had been replaced quite a while ago so all I had for a size reference were photos of other sets. I now have another radio with a 16k 5 watt dog bone installed and it was at least 50% bigger than the one I made. I may give this a try again when I get to that radio. The smaller low wattage copies worked great.
