my philco 41-290 has a 3 point plug in on the back of the chassis for tv reception I know philco didn't make a tv until 1948.did they ever make anything to use with this imput Anyone ever rewire this for a fm convertor ----THANKS
If I'm not mistaken, the 3 prong socket is for the Philco Outdoor Aerial. See the service bulletin for the 41-290.
Philco didn't have any phono/audio input jacks on there sets till after the war. They where interested in selling their RP series of phonos. These where a 78 turntable with a built in phono oscillator so they didn't require a separate input.
As Bob noted the 3 pin connector is for a rf matching transformer to make in possible to use their wire antenna.
I  see so the  pushbutton was to pick up the wireless phono and its marked television and phono so they must have had plans for a tv  and the war postponed  it or it was just  hype to sell radios making you think you could use it with a tv in the future------thanks
