Need to make a few of them wood patterns,,,maybe for other people on line ,,MAYBE ??? CHEERS
That looks like luann plywood, otherwise known as "Philippine Mahogany", which is not even close to being a real mahogany. I think that the original grille had some tulip poplar veneer on it, and may have been poplar all the way through, it has a grain very similar to the unfinished part. The luann ply is very frustrating to cut cleanly, it is soft and chips all over the place.
