In 1952, I went with my mother to select a new Philco TV set. We were fortunate enough to buy it from the Philco Distributor, Buhl Sons Co., in Detroit. It was a 17" console, model 52-T-1850. In those days, Philco held the title for hot tuners, and it was well-earned. The tuner in that set was known as a "Colorado" tuner......so what? I was able to find out that Philco's tuners were named for the state in which the project engineer on that tuner came from.

Now, ain't that a thrilling piece of information? Icon_eek
