Now I'm afraid I have to disagree, Terry. Medium Walnut is too light to recreate patina on a brass escutcheon. Extra Dark Walnut is nearly perfect for this.
No problem it was a guess on my behalf. I did one but it was a long time ago.

Bury it in the yard for a few weeks.
That will do it. Just dont forget where you buried it, lol....
