Had to replace a dial plastic cover on a Transitone 46 200 and despite how careful I was when pulling chassis I broke one wires connection to the antenna. So it sounded muddy and I needed to solder the antenna wire back to the antenna. Now on these cheesy circumference of the case antennas you need to enlarge the nub of wire off the antenna to do a solder job. What a pain. I used a small pick to pull a bit of the end wire from the antenna to make enough of a lead to connect, sounds fine now. A fairly sensitive though small set.

Any tips for working on this type antenna? I love the RCAs with the antenna mounted to the chassis so that everything comes out together!

Appreciate any advice should I need to do this again.

Don't monkey w/it. Don't buy a set that it's bugger up on or missing.
Shortening it an inch or 2 won't effect thing much, just readjust the little screw under where you solder the wire into for max volume w/the dial  set to a station near the top of the band.
